Has New York Lost its Soul?

Has New York Lost its Soul?Of note:
Mr. Walker said he was alarmed by several trends: rising socioeconomic inequality, the increasing homogenization of famously distinctive neighborhoods like Harlem and the departure of blacks from the city.
As someone who, just last night, forgot to get off the 2 going Uptown and stepped out of the Subway station, I can say that no, New York has not lost its soul.
Maybe it was the lack of hipsters...
Or perhaps the lazily-dressed student deficiency?
Maybe, just maybe, it was the looks I received from several people that clearly told me I wasn't welcome at the top of the stairs
No, it was none of those...
It was the realization that when I looked up and expected to see Broadway, but was greeted with Malcolm X Boulevard (Lennox Ave.), that clearly, Harlem is very much alive.
