iPhone 1.1.4 Activation Hack

I will not say how I came to know this information, but I am confirming it for all potential iPhone users to see:

If you have tried the common "all 9's" hack in order to activate your iPhone on a prepaid plan, you would have received an error telling you that you put in an invalid social security number. If, however, you insert another, differing number in any of the positions, it should work as before. This was confirmed on an iPhone with version 1.1.4 of the iPhone software.

So there you have it. Don't say I never gave you anything.

P.S. As for those of you who are wondering if this is illegal, the answer is yes. I do believe this may constitute social security fraud. The procedures I've presented thusly should never be attempted and are for informational purposes only.
